CimQuest INGEAR Runtime-free .NET Class Libraries Simplify Creation of Allen-Bradley PLC Interfaces

New NET.ABLINK version 2.0 software brings Visual Studio.NET Web Services and Compact Framework power and ease-of-use to industrial HMI creation

Phoenixville, Penn. –– June 04, 2008 –– CimQuest INGEAR, a leading publisher of runtime-free software development solutions for industrial applications, has released its next generation of Visual Studio.NET class libraries for Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

CimQuest INGEAR’s NET.ABLINK 2.0 software is a managed code class library that gives Visual Studio programmers a direct communication channel to Allen-Bradley PLCs without the overhead or complexity of OPC, and does not rely on 3rd party drivers such as RSLinx.

NET.ABLINK 2.0 is part of the INGEAR.NET™ family of communications class libraries, which simplify connectivity from Microsoft Windows, ASP.NET and Compact Framework to industrial platforms.  The software enables two-way communications with Allen-Bradley PLC-5, SLC and MicroLogix PLCs.

“Implementing ABLink on the .NET platform enables our developers to leverage their current skill set in integrating the library into our system. Simple code and a very sensible API made the integration effort minimal and royalty-free distribution allows us to pass considerable savings onto our customers,” said Ross Levin, president of ACSIS, Inc., a Marlton, New Jersey company that uses ABLink to develop applications for integration into SAP systems.

CimQuest INGEAR simplifies .NET PLC programming by enabling creation of industrial applications using only three classes: one that manages PLC communications, one that manages data points from that PLC, and one that performs optimized data group operations.

NET.ABLINK 2.0 adds the following functionality to NET.ABLINK:

  • Improved system utilization, which makes applications smaller, tighter and run faster by demanding fewer system resources
  • Access to MicroLogix 1100 Data Log Files
  • Complete compatibility with Windows Vista, which provides advantages for graphics, security and interoperability
  • Support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, which enables developers to take greater advantage of .NET core components, including creating reusable application building blocks from managed, code that is isolated from the process code.

NET.ABLINK 2.0 is the first building block in a forthcoming release of system services, component extenders and instrumentation elements to develop runtime free applications without the need for programming.  NET.ABLINK 2.0 users will be able to leverage future building block elements as they become available.

NET.ABLINK 2.0 is available immediately. For more information visit: http://www.ingeardrivers.com or call 866.935.7979 toll-free from the U.S. or Canada; 1.610.935.8282 from anywhere, or email to: sales@ingeardrivers.com.
